It is true, she was the very definition of life as creative practice. But one of the reasons I’m increasingly more comfortable writing about her is something you said to me about doubling down on the family stories. 😉More and more, it’s my happy place. Thank you! ❣️
I don't recall; there were so many. My mom took us to the library on the regular and I always came home with a stack of books. I really liked Dr. Seuss and Frog and Toad. And Frances and jam! :)
This is so filled with magical love. Thank you for casting this spell(ings) into our minds and therefore our whole beings. I feel warm and loved and I also see you in the outfits in the 70's in my head too.
I can envision all of it. She sounds like a treasure. And a creative force. ❤️

Lillien, thanks for this story. It brought my mother back to me for a visit. She taught me how to read in a similar fashion before I started school.
Then my mission is complete! Thank you, my friend.
Wait! Do you remember the book(s)?

Thank you, Sabrina! This made my day. And, yes, there were ‘fits, but my sister Juanita had the best ones: Yellow window pane jeans. I was SO jealous.
I am glad she instilled that passion for storytelling.
